What happens during a mains renewal?

We’re investing in the maintenance, repair and replacement of water mains across our network to provide a reliable, high quality water supply.

To provide a reliable supply of high-quality drinking water, SES Water maintains, repairs and replaces water mains across its network. We manage around 3,500km of pipes, delivering 160 million litres of water every day to more than 735,000 customers.

Some of our pipes date back to Victorian times. While they were built to last, they’re replaced when they reach the end of their useful life.
